Does anyone here have a spare 2.5" SATA II or III laptop drive lying around? Preferably 7200RPM... Thanks!

I probably do, though it's probably a small unit (80-120GB)

i needed a better rig for side work, 17" screen, decent for its time i think it had a RAM upgrade to 1gig. My wife's was slowing down and was ready for a replacement, you know cuz facebook demands performance stats. I'm pretty sure there is a third. I think they are like 5 or 6 yrs old.

Knowing you, it's for a Thinkpad. I think I've got a 72gb(?) from a T61 with a Ubuntu install lying around somewhere...

Yeah it is. I have a 100GB drive in my T61p, but it's only SATA I. I installed a BIOS that enables SATA II support (for some reason Lenovo disabled SATA II in stock BIOS).

Sell 'em on eBay, just wipe out the drives first.
